About Me

Hi, my name is Rebekah.

I do not like doing the dishes.

I was born in a tiny town in Arkansas, and have since lived in Tennessee, Scotland, and Florida, currently residing in the best and most beautiful state in the world, Arizona. I love exploring different climates and cultures, and hope to do a lot more traveling in the future than I have been able to do as of yet.

I grew up in a large family with a mother who was a brilliant home cook and taught me much of what I already know. From as early as I can remember I've dreamed of being a professional chef. I've spent thousands of hours pouring over cookbooks, browsing food blogs, watching cooking shows, and experimenting in the kitchen. In 2013 I took the first step toward achieving my dream and attended the Arizona Culinary Institute, earning a Diploma in Culinary Arts, Baking & Restaurant Management, and graduating with Honors and Distinction. I did my internship as assistant to the banquet chef at Sassi, a Four Diamond Italian restaurant in North Scottsdale, and currently work there as a line cook. My goal is to one day own my own neighborhood cafe or bakery, and/or to be a culinary arts instructor at my alma mater.

When I'm not busy cooking, you might find me hiking, reading, napping, shopping, quilting, gardening, taking pictures, doing yoga, playing my violin, watching chic-flics, video-chatting with my unbelievably adorable nephews and nieces, snacking on pita chips and cottage cheese, and generally making a nuisance of myself.

I am a sinner saved by grace, and Jesus is my strength and joy in everything I do.
